Review Guidelines

The International Journal of Frontiers in Medical Research (IJFMR) follows ethical and responsible peer review practices consistent with established principles of scholarly publishing and research integrity. Reviewer Responsibilities

Conflict of Interest

Direct personal or professional relationships with the authors.
Academic or commercial competition that may influence the review.

Ethical Vigilance

Reviewers should report concerns relating to possible research or publication misconduct, including:

Plagiarism or substantial text similarity.
Duplicate or redundant publication.
Fabrication or falsification of data.
Manipulation of figures, images, tables, or results.
Inappropriate or misleading statistical analysis.
Citation manipulation.
Undisclosed conflicts of interest.

Manuscript Evaluation Criteria

Reviewers should consider the following aspects when evaluating a manuscript:

Methodological Rigor

Appropriate research design.
Suitable methods of data collection or experimentation.

Results & Interpretation

Clear presentation of results.
Appropriate interpretation of findings.
Consistency between research objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.

Literature & Referencing

Appropriate use of relevant scholarly literature.
Adequate engagement with previous research.
Accurate and consistent citations.
Appropriate acknowledgment of sources.
Avoidance of excessive, irrelevant, or coercive citation practices.

Clarity and Presentation

Logical organization of the manuscript.
Clear presentation of scientific arguments.
Appropriate academic language.
Clear tables, figures, equations, and supplementary material where applicable.

Responsible Use of AI

Reviewers must protect the confidentiality of manuscripts when using any digital or technological tools during the review process.

Reviewers should:

Not upload confidential manuscript content to public or third-party generative AI systems.
Not use AI tools to replace their independent scholarly judgment.
Ensure that any permitted language or editing assistance does not compromise confidentiality.
Maintain responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the submitted review.

Timeliness & Conduct

Reviewers are expected to:

Complete reviews within the period specified by the editorial office.
Inform the editorial office promptly if additional time is required.
Decline the assignment if they cannot provide a timely and objective review.
Provide clear, respectful, and constructive comments.
Avoid language that is personal, discriminatory, or unrelated to the scientific content of the manuscript.

Decision Recommendations

Reviewers may provide recommendations such as:

Accept
Minor Revision
Major Revision
Reject

Recommendations should be supported by clear comments and evidence-based reasoning. The final editorial decision remains the responsibility of the journal's editorial office.

Accountability

The editorial office maintains appropriate records of the peer review process for editorial and quality-control purposes. Reviewers are expected to follow the journal's confidentiality and ethical requirements.

Serious or repeated breaches of reviewer responsibilities may result in removal from the journal's reviewer database and other appropriate editorial action.
